Bank Indonesia Notes Increase in New Loans Disbursed by Banks in February 2023

KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. Bank Indonesia (BI) has observed a rise in the disbursement of new loans by banks in February 2023, compared to the previous month. This was evident from the February 2023 Net Weighted Balance (SBT) of new loans, which recorded a positive 66.7%.

Erwin Haryono, Executive Director of the Communication Department at BI, stated that this achievement was a reversal from the negative SBT of -7.2% in January 2023. The primary factors that influenced the disbursement of new loans were the financing demand from customers, prospects of the future monetary and economic conditions, and the level of competition among banks. Based on usage types, the disbursement of new loans was seen to increase across all loan types.
