KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. A jumbo transaction took place in PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN) shares in the first trading session today, Thursday (13/9/2023).
The transaction took place in the negotiation market and involved as many as 1.38 billion shares. The total value of the transaction reached IDR 1.09 trillion.
Meanwhile, its price tag was IDR 79 per share, far above the FREN share price in the regular market. For information, the FREN share price last touched the level of IDR 71 per share on November 15, 2022.
This jumbo transaction took place amid the strengthening plan of EXCL's merger with FREN.
Usman Kasong, Director General of Public Information & Communication (Dirjen IKP) of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology previously revealed, if the management of XL Axiata and Smartfren had met with Minister of Communication and Information Technology Budi Arie Setiadi.
The meeting discussed the merger between the two cellular operators. However, what was discussed between EXCL and FREN with the Minister of Communication and Information Technology was not revealed.
