Indonesia Activates Acquisition of 18 Rafale Aircraft in Multi-Billion Dollar Contrac
KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. As a part of the contract inked by Indonesia in February 2022 to acquire 42 Rafale aircraft, the second tranche comprising 18 Rafale jets has been activated today. This development follows the activation of the first tranche of 6 Rafale aircraft in September 2022, bringing the total number of ordered aircraft to 24.
The procurement of state-of-the-art Rafale aircraft for the Indonesian National Army Air Force (TNI-AU) encompasses a comprehensive "turnkey" solution along with substantial industrial benefits for the Indonesian aeronautical sector. Furthermore, educational initiatives are set to be initiated to enhance the technical expertise in aeronautics.
