The Indonesian New Energy and Renewable Energy Bill Misses the Mark
KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. A number of experts doubt that the contents of the Draft Law on New and Renewable Energy (RUU EBET) can accelerate the energy transition in Indonesia. This is because the policy includes new energy generators and some fossil energy sources, such as waste power plants (PLTSa).
The Head of Pollution Control and Environmental Damage Division at the Indonesian Center for Environmental Law (ICEL), Fajri Fadhillah explained, that PLTSa uses fuel in the form of waste which contains plastic waste, a byproduct of crude oil.
