Eni Discovers Third Largest Gas Reserves in Kutei Basin, East Kalimantan
KONTAN.CO.ID - JAKARTA. The Head of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) has expressed appreciation for the discovery of a significant gas reserve in the North Ganal Work Area in East Kalimantan, with an initial estimate of 5 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of Gas in Place.
The initial estimate of the discovered resources is approximately +/- 609 MMBOE (recoverable), making this discovery at the Geng North-1 well one of the top three exploration discoveries in the world in 2023.
