JERA Plans US$ 11 Billion Capex Over Four Years as Russia Drives Low Carbon Focus
KONTAN.CO.ID - TOKYO. Japan's biggest power generator JERA said on Thursday it will invest 1,4 trillion yen (US$ 11 billion) over the next four years to expand overseas assets and cut carbon emissions. A trend it expects to accelerate following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The company set a goal to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from its domestic business by 60% or more by 2035 versus 2013 levels. Mainly by using ammonia and hydrogen as a fuel for thermal power plants.
